Commander XH/XK

2006 - 2010

The new Jeep Commander range was showcased at the New York International Auto Show in April 2005 and available for sale from 2006. It was basically a more angularly clothed Grand Cherokee intended to entice customers with the stylistic elements of the original 1984 Cherokee. However, the Commander ceased to be part of the Jeep program when the Grand Cherokee basic model changed in the summer of 2010.
The Commander corresponded to the Grand Cherokee in all significant technical details. The body is self-supporting here, too. The front-axle wheels had individual suspension mountings but the rear axle was still fixed.
