Wrangler TJ

1997 - 2006

Ten years after its predecessor was launched came the TJ generation in 1997. TJ can be read as True Jeep because it looks at us in a friendly manner from round headlights. And this pleasant expression conceals a happy message, for after more than half a century Jeep replaced the fixed leaf springs with more flexible coil springs making the on-road ride more comfortable and making interlacing through bumpy terrain smoother.

There was now the Rubicon for all those wishing to drive cross-terrain seriously and come out on the other side under their own power. The chassis was equipped with fixed axles for such tasks and the front stabilizer could be disengaged to allow the axles to interlace more firmly.
